| "Annie" & I have been through alot together. She holds a
very special place in my heart! When we lost Annie's dam
during delivery I bottle fed & took over as her mom. I had
never raised an orphan foal before but I learned how very
quickly! I fed her all hours of the day and night because I
didn't want her to look like an orphan foal. Feeding her
every hour a little bit at a time for one month. Then to
every two hours the next month. Then she learned to drink
milk from a bucket when she was 3 to 4 months old. And last
but not least-- she learned to eat milk pellets. It was very
exhausting but worth every minute of it. You would never had
known by looking at her she didn't have a dam growing up.
She is a great mom & a true friend! Everyday when I come out
of the house to go to the barn she whinnies for me. And she
is the 1st one I greet! Im very fortunate to have her in my
life! Annie has been such a great broodmare for us. She has
had 3 colored foals. We are patiently awaiting her next foal
due March 08 by
